Our 4 1/2 hour drive turned into a 6 hour drive as there was heavy rain & fog with very little visibility at times. The last time I was in Baltimore was when my son, Pat, got accepted at Johns Hopkin University - I think it was in 1989. Pat, Julie & I drove down to check out the school. It was a fun time for the most part - the only bad time was when I let Pat drive as we drove straight through. He was a speed demon, weaving in & out of traffic. I had a new Volvo at the time & it had turbo so you could pick up speed in seconds. Pat liked this but his turn at the wheel was rather short as I was nearly on the floor at times. We stayed in downtown Baltimore near the bay for a few days. The weather was nice & we had a great time. I remember going out to dinner one evening. We had a window view that overlooked the Chesapeake Bay. I had Maryland crabcakes & they were mouthwatering.
This evening we are going out to dinner with my niece, Kristy, her husband, John, & son, Anthony. I can't wait to have crabcakes again. I'll see if my memory is as good as I think it is.
Tomorroow we are off to Roanke.
