As we left Bemidji, MN, I noticed on the map the we were pretty close to North Dakota and could follow a major highway down to Tom's so we made our way West. The reason I did this was because we have been through 49 of the US states and only North Dakota was left. I thought we would stop in Fargo for lunch. I asked Patsy if he wanted to pull off the road and he said to wait for the next exit, which I assumed was also Fargo. To my surprise, we had passed Fargo. After Fargo, there are cities or towns to speak of - only fields and fields of corn and soybeans. We finally stopped in Mooreton, ND, just before the border, for lunch and to get gas. We did get gas, no lunch, but I did get a picture of the post office there to prove that we were in ND.
Traveling through Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa we certainly saw a lot of corn and soybean fields, miles and miles and miles of it. I am an expert at recognizing the plants now.
This was harvesting season and huge combines were harvesting the crop and tilling the soil for next year. There was a lot of dust!

We are staying in Sioux City, IA tonight at the Hilton Garden Inn. There is a great restaurant associated with the hotel called Bev's Restaurant, which is located on the Missouri River. We had a delicious dinner there and thought of our friend, Bev Elvin, who is always introducing us to recipes she has created herself.
is this where Bev creates all those delicious dishes?
