Easter 2011

Easter Sunday a group of us went to Shrugrue's for the buffet, which caters to any palate. The food was great, salads, a seafood bar with Alaskan King crab, jumbo shrimp, oysters and smoked salmon. The carving station included baked ham, prime rib and lamb with all the trimmings, a breakfast station with omelets made to order and a dessert station which was incredible. Also never ending champange and all for a price of $25 per person. You could stay as long as you wanted - there was no rush
Above is the group that played throughout our dinner.

Brewer's barbeque 2011

Here we are at Al and Marilyn's for a great barbeque on a spectacular evening.  Left to right are: Dave, Kay, Wendy, Joann and Lumpy. This is the patio area behind Al's house.

Left to right are Bev, Glenice and Marilyn having a intense conversation about the upcoming wedding - the royals!

Some new people in the group (left to right) Kay, Patsy, Wendy, Joann, Keith and Dave taking care of the beer cooler.

The women (left to right) Wendy, Kay, Bev, Joann, Glenice, Marilyn and me. As you can see in the background, the men are getting the appetizers out, firing up the grill and just letting us relax for once! We are very content with our new role of doing nothing.

Kay is getting some of the appetizers the men have put out and the men are discussing what they should do next. This could be quite a dilemna.

A picture of the pool. We went in the hot tub and took a dip in the pool later in the evening when the sun went down

Marilyn and a few others are setting up chairs around the pool.

Dave, Al, Lumpy and Bob want to get the barbeque going. It seems as though there is a big discussion going on.
It was a wonderful evening. After swimming we went inside to see the movie Marilyn had made of their trip to Catalina Island - it was fantastic.

Our end of season party 2011

There was a 20% chance of thundershowers for the day of our party, which is extremely unusual during this time of the year. We woke up to a beautiful sunny day. At 9:00am our friends came over with tables and chairs and began setting them up in the yard. The table clothes were put on by 10:30am and we all had time to relax before things got going at 2:00pm.
At noon, the sky got very dark and there was thunder and lightning and the rain can. I couldn't believe it as we were all set up. I kept going to the door to look west to see if it was getting clear. Patsy told me to sit down and relax; that it would clear when it wanted to. My jumping up and down wasn't going to make it go by any faster. I knew that he was right but we has 70+ people coming over- they wouldn't all fit in our condo. What would we do? The food was all ready to go so we couldn't cancel it. We had prepared pasta fagioli, mini lobster rolls, drinks and 2 birthday cakes as it as it was Lumpy and Greg's birthday - all of which was not planned when I set the date. Guests were bringing appetizers and a few desserts.
At 1:30pm, the sun came out. Everyong in the complex came over to dry the chairs and wipe off the table clothes. It got nice and warm with a bit of a breeze in the air. It turned out to be just a perfect day!
In the above is Patsy with his pot of pasta fagioli waiting to serve it.

Here we have Ron speaking to Mac, on the left, who proposed to Margaret on the way to the party. Margaret had been in Vancouver visiting the family and Mac picked her up at LAS. That was a very nice ride home!
