a bit of a water hazard, but the ducks are really enjoying themselves

LHC Golfing 2010

Lois & Wendy hit the ball & they landed beside each other equally distant from the hole, not only once but twice.
How often does that happen?

LHC Golfing 2010

Met a little friend as we were traveling along. Have you ever seen a real road runner?

LHC Golfing 2010

On Wed the women golf following the men. They (lt to rt: Lois, Bev & Wendy) asked me to join them. I was hesitant as they had played for several years. I did join them & had a wonderful time. They were very patient & encouraging. Bev even told me that if I wanted to play best ball that I could. I only did it a couple of times. I did have a very enjoyable day - I think because I was in very good company. We all went out to dinner at Amici's, an Italian restaurant. It was a nice day. I even said that I would join them again.

LHC Golfing 2010

Patsy & the guys belong to a golf league & golf 3 times a week at The Courses, which is has a beautiful view of the city & lake below. The city is built on an incline so that there is always a view of the lake. If you get lost here, you just drive towards the lake.
The guys(lt to rt: Bob, Lumpy Patsy & Jim) are at the 1st hole.

a pregnant burro - see the large tummy

Pat, SE, kids at LHC 2010

you can see that the burros, to the left, wander the street. We brought carrots to feed them. They are always very hungry & will chase you down the street to get more carrots - that happened to us. In fact, if they see the bag of carrots, they will try to snatch them right out of your hand. Both of my grandchildren had an experience with the snatching.

Pat, SE, kids at LHC 2010

There is entertainment - the man playing the guitar is the sheriff of the town. The kids got his autograph - he is one of the actors in the bank robbery & shot out in the center of the town. The also got Diamond Lil's & another cowboy's autograph. The last one had gone home after the shoot out. Pasquale loved the show

We had lunch at the Palace Hotel restaurant in Oatman, a ghost town that has been reserrected. It was a mining town & remains the same as it was in the 1800's with wild burros roaming the streets.
The wallpaper in the background is all paper money, mostly 1's & 5's, that people have signed. The kids eyes were as big as saucers when the entered the place. They both put their signed dollar bills up.
The town is on the old Route 66. We traveled about 30 miles of Route 66 to get to Oatman - What a winding road!!!
