LHC Balloon Festival 2011

This is the cover of the Balloon Festival booklet given to each person, who bought tickets to the festival.

As you can see for this picture, there were a number of companies advertising their products. This one is a restaurant in LHC. I liked the steer showing the cuts of beef.

There was an antique car show for all to view. These cars are pretty common here as we see them on the streets. The weather is always so nice here - no bad weather, so no rust & sun so you can roll down the windows & enjoy the day.

This is an old beauty.

An old firetruck used to advertise one's business

As you can see the carnival was up & going. Also there were tents with all sorts of arts & crafts & food booths galore.

Tons of people from all over - the hotels were full.
A view overlooking the city of Lake Havasu nestled in the Mohave Mountains.

We were there for the mass take out of balloons but the winds had picked up on the Colorado River & take off was cancelled for the 4:00pm & 6:00pm ascension so i took pictures of the few baskets that were visable.

a closeup to show you the colors

This one was all packed up for the day.

another basket with the van behind showing what the balloon would have looked like

I am glad that I didn't pay $40.00 for VIP seating yesterday. In the background is another look at our city.
