Wendy and Lumpy Visit Us in Maine 2011

Wendy and Lumpy came to visit us a week ago Friday for a very short stay - 3 full days. Friday evening we went to a restaurant near us and we all got lobsters - might as well enjoy it while you are here.
Saturday Lumpy and Patsy went golfing and Wendy and I visited a few discount stores.

Monday we went to LL Bean as Lumpy was looking for this portable hunting house. It was a little pricy but LL Bean has a any time money back policy if you are not satisfied with your purchase.

We came back to Portland for lunch at DiMillo's, which is a boat in the marina and the only floating restaurant on the East coast.

We ordered lobster clubs - can never get enough lobster!

Monday we went on a tour of Portland and the neighboring seacoast - Two Lights and Higgins Beach. We came back home to teach Wendy how to make shrimp scampi. She is a very good student and Patsy doesn't say that too often!!!

A close up of Portland Headlight, which was commissioned by George Washington and is the most photographed lighthouse in the world.

Here is a view on Portland from Portland Headlight.

Wendy, Lumpy and patsy enjoying a

gorgeous day.
Looking down at the water washing over the rocks, I noticed a bevy of geese sunning themselves as the ocean went in and out.

A plaque noting one of our most famous poets.

This picture should have gone with Sunday's group as Lumpy had heard that liquer is a steal in New Hampshire. To our dismay, we were inching along with all the campers leaving Maine for the weekend. What is usually a 50 minute trip took 2 1/2 hours. Lumpy saved $8 by buying it in NH instead of Canada and $5 instead of purchasing it in ME. What a bargain he got!!!
